Terratec Aureon 7.1 Space (+/- €85,-) (VIA Envy24HT chip)
Audiotrak Prodigy 7.1 (+/- €149,-) (VIA Envy24HT chip)
M-Audio Revolution 5.1 (+/- €70,-) (VIA Envy24HT chip)
M-Audio Revolution 7.1 (+/- €95,-) (Seen for €49,-) (VIA Envy24HT chip)
M-Audio Audiophile 192 (+/- €150,-)
RME HDSP9632 (+/- €439,-)
E-MU 0404 (+/- €99,-)
E-MU 1212m (+/- 199,-)
Hercules Fortissimo 4 (+/- €48,-) (VIA Envy24HT chip)
ESI Maya44 (+/- €99,-)
C-Media CMI9880L Onboard Audio Codec (sometimes the output isn't filtered)
Lynx L22
LynxTWO
extern
EMU 0202 USB
E-MU 0404 USB (+/- €99,-)
Edirol FA-101 FireWire

The following soundcards are not tested but are probably working:
intern

Terratec Aureon 7.1 Universe (+/- €160,-) (VIA Envy24HT chip)
Terratec Phase 28 (+/- €200,-)
Realtek ALC880 Onboard HD codec. Also the ALC860
extern
Terratec Aureon 7.1 FireWire

Very bad working soundcards:
Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS (+/- €65,-)
Soundblaster Live as input device

Not working soundcards:
Every soundcard that doesn't support 192 kHz. sampling rate won't work.
Soundblaster Live
Soundblaster Live 24 bit
Soundblaster Audigy 1
Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic

If you have a soundcard that works and it's not listed in here, please reply on this topic.

Em , it not only that it plays stereo , but HOW GOOD it plays ...

The frequency responce of the soundcard is very critical in 57K signals , and will affect criticaly also the stereo separation ,
so it would be nice to tell us also in which of them have the best frequency response .

I was going to get a Creative Audigy 2 SZ player ,
but now i see 'not recomended'.. why?
(bad price/value? or not good freq response?)

I don't know the frequency response from all the card's. But what I tested with the Aureon was that the frequency response was pretty flat.

The reason I don't recommend then Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS is because I've heard that this soundcard doesn't have a flat frequency response. I also had some complains about the stereocoder that crashes with this soundcard. I didn't tested all the soundcards myself but only the Aureon and the Prodigy. The Aureon, Prodigy and the Revolution soundcard are almost the same soundcard's. The Audigy and the RME soundcard where tested by others. If you have good experience with the Audigy, please let me know.

the audigy audio card .is hardware excelet but it's software drivers .sucks!!

the programs that use this card for recording from an external source and also playback at the sametime crash!!
that happens with ALL the programs that can record and play at the same time..
i don't know details...

Yes, really, I tested Audigy 2ZS with standard drivers
and had the same result

But if to use the unofficial driver KX-Project it, probably, will work.

Now I use this software

http://download.kxproject.lugosoft.com/downloads/kxdrv3538-full.exe

and it works already more than 16 hours

Plase tell me about the quality of stereo , the seperation is ok ?
(You have to put audio only in the lefdt channel and see how much quiet is the right channel).

I am just to buy the audigy2 value , i am not interested too much in stability , i will do only tests , i am not on air nowadays , but what i care about is the frequency response up to 57K and surely RDS :).

M-Audio Delta

Postby Guest » 22 Feb 2005, 17:04

Hallo,

Groetjes,
Arjen

Postby engineer » 16 Apr 2005, 12:50

I can confrim that Stereo Coder and Airomate works on E-MU 0404 card.
I don't have any measurement hardware, but if somone can suggest some software spectrum/osciloscope tools I would like to do tests and post here.
btw. E-MU 0404 supports 192kHz IN and OUT, price is ~$99 :D

Postby Gait » 10 May 2005, 22:23

hello,
I saw this on the internet:

voor maar 48,- pleuris
bij http://www.sallandautomatisering.nl

Het is de Via® Envy24HT audio controller
dus zou moeten werken toch?

Yes, it seems that the Hercules Fortissimo 4 should work.
Can somebody who has this soundcard confirm this?
