ASIO Support

Postby diekgait » 28 Jan 2008, 20:35

Hello, I'm using airomate for a few months now. I like the software, it works great.
The only thing I don't like is the delay. The pc that is running Airomate is also running audio processing software.
The audio processing software supports ASIO and has a delay of only 5 ms! almost unhearable(Is this correct Englisch? :)).
The pc is running a 2,4 Ghz Intel Quad core and it has a Juli@ soundcard, so that shouldn't be the problem.
My current configuration is as following:

Analog mixer -> Julia@ 1/2 in -> ASIO In audio processor ASIO out Juli@ 3/4 out

Direct wire Juli@ 3/4 asio out -> Juli@ 3/4 Nme in.

Airomate: Juli@ 3/4 in -> airomate -> Juli@ 1/2 out -> Transmitter.

In this situation I have to set the airomate delay to atleast 100ms or else it starts to skip/create strange noises...

I don't if it is possible, but maybe with ASIO the delay can be decreased.

I'm looking forward to a reaction.

Greetings,

Dennis Lansink

Hello diekgait,

I did some experiments with ASIO but sadly enough it did give to much delay too at 192kHz sampling rate.
But maybe in the future, when I've got a fast pc also, I will try it again. Reducing the size and amount of buffers has some consequences. Because it has to disable the synchronization between two different soundcards to get a lower delay.
You could try to disable the synchronization yourself by enable the Sync mode option and then reducing the buffer size. You can find the Sync mode option near the input device settings.

Or maybe is a VST plugin a idea? In that case the ASIO support is taken care off by the VST host software.

Yeah, I just bought Airomate and it works great!
Just one thing that's bother me, and that's the latency..

With Breakaway Asio you dont have any latency but my pc cant run that program so,

(P.S. Sorry for the bad english)
